What Manual N covers
ACCA Manual N is the load calculation procedure for light commercial buildings — offices, retail spaces, small clinics, shops and similar occupancies. Compared with a house, commercial loads are driven much more by occupancy, lighting, equipment, ventilation air and schedules, and Manual N accounts for all of those zone by zone.
From loads to a working system
Once loads are established, we size the supply and return duct system for the required airflows and select equipment that meets the loads at your design conditions. The result is a coordinated package your mechanical contractor can bid and build from with fewer questions and less rework.
- Zone-by-zone heating and cooling loads
- Ventilation and occupancy assumptions documented
- Duct sizing for supply and return
- Equipment selection summary
- PDF reports for plan review
Tenant improvements and small commercial projects
Tenant improvements often change how a space is used — more people, new equipment, different hours — without anyone re-checking the HVAC. A Manual N load calculation tells you whether existing rooftop units and ductwork can handle the new layout or what needs to change before you sign off on finishes.
